More new Nicolas Cage is on the way with the film Sand and Stones announcing its cast this week, which includes the Academy Award-winner alongside Jaeden Martell (IT 2017).
Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space) and Sadie Soverall (Fate: The Winx Saga) also star.
Deadline first reported the news, with the website also noting that the survival thriller comes from Highland Film Group. Production kicks off next week in Dublin, Ireland.
“The film is set in a post-apocalyptic and sparsely populated world where Paul (Nicolas Cage) and his twin teenage sons, Joseph (Jaeden Martell) and Thomas (Maxwell Jenkins), have managed to claw out an existence, yet live in constant fear. Until, confronted by imminent danger, they must execute a desperate plan to survive.”
Ben Brewer (The Trust) is directing Sand and Stones.
Mike Nilon (Braven) wrote the script.
“With his keen eye and unique vision, Ben Brewer is the ideal director to bring Mike Nilon’s apocalyptic and electrifying script to life,” said Highland’s COO, Delphine Perrier.
