Rockstar to Release 10th Anniversary Soundtrack for ‘Max Payne 3’ With Unreleased Tracks

Last month, Remedy announced that they were going ahead with Rockstar Games to remake the first two Max Payne games. And now, Rockstar in turn are remaking the soundtrack to Max Payne 3 as part of the game’s 10th anniversary.

Coming later this year to digital streaming platforms and limited-edition vinyl, Max Payne 3 – The Official Soundtrack (Anniversary Edition) features a new version of the game’s soundtrack by LA-based noise rock band HEALTH, including unreleased tracks.

“When we began work on the Max Payne 3 score we could not have predicted the momentous effect it would have on the trajectory of our band and the music we make,” said HEALTH. “Now, 10 years on, we are still as proud as ever to be part of the story.”

More details on the release are expected soon, but it’s fitting that the game’s score is getting a second look. The soundtrack had been originally nominated for Best Original Score at the Spike Video Game Awards (the precursor to The Game Awards) back in 2012, along with Best Song in a Game for “Tears”.
