Apogee Entertainment and the diabolical geniuses at New Blood Interactive and Nightdive Studios have finally set the release date for their upcoming remaster of the cult classic FPS Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition. You can experience the remake of the landmark 1994 shooter when it splatters gratuitous gibs on Steam for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch on July 31st, 2023. Accompanying the announcement is a new trailer that features a taste of the over-the-top action you can expect from Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition.
Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition is more than a faithful recreation of the genre-defining shooter. Thanks to Nightdive Studios’ proprietary KEX engine, it is the original shooter in its true form, built with the original game’s source code. Sporting 60+ frames-per-second gameplay, Ludicrous Edition also features the classic pixelated artwork upscaled to 4K resolution, increased field-of-view, cloud saves, achievements, and more.
