Billed as Egypt’s first official giant monster movie, Oscar: The Return of the Mammoth brings two monstrous behemoths back to life for an epic battle of Kaiju-sized proportions.
Mohamed Hesham El-Rashidy (Mako) directs Oscar: The Return of the Mammoth, which is now playing in theaters in its native Egypt and eyeing an international release.
No word yet on when the film will be stomping and smashing its way onto digital here in the United States, but you can watch the trailer below to whet your appetite for the mayhem.
Here’s the synopsis: “The Return of the Mammoth is a groundbreaking Egyptian fantasy-adventure that fuses ancient legend with modern science. When a long-extinct mammoth and other species were brought back to life, chaos and wonder spread across modern Egypt.”
Ahmed Salah Hosny, Hanady Mehana, Mohamed Tharwat, Liya Swidan, Ahmed AL-Bayed, Mai Al-Kady, and Mahmoud Abdelmoghny star in Oscar: The Return of the Mammoth.
Moustafa Askar and Hamed Alsharab wrote the monster movie’s screenplay.
