Official Runtime of the ‘Backrooms’ Movie Is NOT Over 2 Hours

After A24 released the official trailer earlier this week, a rumor began to spread on social media that director Kane Parsons’ Backrooms movie has a runtime of a whopping 2 hours, 25 minutes. This was information allegedly pulled from A24’s own ticketing website for the film, but is there any truth to the rumor that Backrooms is actually that long?

Bloody Disgusting has been able to confirm that the Backrooms movie definitely does NOT run over 2 hours long. The final official runtime for the horror film? 1 hour, 45 minutes.

YouTube prodigy Kane Parsons makes his feature directorial debut based on his creepypasta-inspired video series, which debuted in 2022 and has amassed over 190 million views to date.

Speaking of impressive views, A24’s official Backrooms trailer has already passed 10 million views on YouTube, suggesting a high level of audience interest in the horror movie.

Will Soodik (“Ash vs. Evil Dead”) penned the script for the Backrooms movie for A24, in which a strange doorway appears in the basement of a furniture showroom.

Mark Duplass (Creep), Finn Bennett (“True Detective: Night Country”), Lukita Maxwell (“Shrinking”), and Avan Jogia (Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City) also star.
