Nintendo Direct Unveils More ‘Resident Evil Requiem’ Footage, Leon and Grace Amiibos [Watch]

Despite being the last platform announced before Resident Evil Requiem launches later this month, Switch 2 owners got their moment in the spotlight with new gameplay footage for the upcoming survival horror epic. In addition, for amiibo fans, Capcom unveiled the two amiibos for Requiem in Leon S. Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft.

The gameplay trailer first focuses on Grace’s side of the game, which as mentioned previously, is more akin to the gameplay found in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 7. As such, we get footage using the game’s first-person perspective option to emphasize the tension. The trailer then switches to Leon’s gameplay, featuring the third-person camera, and all of the roundhouse kicks and chainsaw action we’ve seen previously. Don’t worry, as we do see more new footage of Leon making use of his rifle to take out zombies.

The trailer also mentions Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village launching for the Switch 2 on the same day as Requiem. You can buy each title individually, or in the Resident Evil Generation Pack, which features all three games. There will also be a Resident Evil Requiem-themed Switch 2 Pro Controller, featuring exclusive artwork inspired by Requiem.

And as mentioned, amiibo fans will get their hands on the two Requiem amiibos later this summer for Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy. Pre-orders for the Deluxe and Standard editions of Resident Evil Requiem are available now for all platforms, with the Deluxe edition featuring the same base game as the Standard edition, plus an exclusive pack of five costumes, four weapon skins, two screen filters, two charms, and more.

Resident Evil Requiem launches February 27 for the Switch 2, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series.
