Netflix Cancels Vampire Series “First Kill” After Just One Season

From executive producer Emma Roberts, the young adult vampire series “First Kill” premiered on Netflix this past June, and we’ve learned that the series has already been cancelled.

Netflix will not be moving forward with “First Kill” Season 2, Deadline reports.

Deadline notes, “According to sources, the series, which did not have the staying power of most Netflix hits, still did not meet thresholds for viewing and completion of episodes.”

In the series, vampire Juliette meets vampire hunter Calliope and sparks fly…

“When it’s time for teenage vampire Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook) to make her first kill so she can take her place among a powerful vampire family, she sets her sights on a new girl in town named Calliope (Imani Lewis). But much to Juliette’s surprise, Calliope is a vampire hunter, from a family of celebrated slayers.

“Both find that the other won’t be so easy to kill and, unfortunately, way too easy to fall for.”

The series was written by Felicia D. Henderson and Victoria “V.E.” Schwab.
