The director of last year’s Mortal Kombat movie, Simon McQuoid has set up his next project. Deadline reports that McQuoid will be directing sci-fi movie Omega for Sony.
Deadline details the upcoming movie’s storyline, “Set in the sparse landscapes of rural Texas, we hear the story will follow a downtrodden young woman who gets more than she bargained for when she helps a mysterious stranger: a reality-warping power that thrusts her into a dark underworld with ancient origins.
“As she finds herself hunted by a cabal of hitmen she must try to master her burgeoning skills and discover who she really is.”
Blair Butler (Hell Fest) is writing the next draft of the script.
Jason Michael Berman and Jordan Moldo will produce for Mandalay Pictures.
