“My first reaction… it is FANTASTIC.”
We’ve seen countless reactions to the new Scream movie these past several days, and of course we’ve shared our own – read Meagan’s review here and my own thoughts here – but it’s particularly interesting to hear what members of the Scream family think about it.
For starters, Matthew Lillard tweeted last week that the new movie is “a love letter” to all the fans of the franchise, while going so far as to say that “Wes [Craven] would be proud.”
High praise from one of the franchise’s most iconic actors, to say the least.
Over on his YouTube channel today, Jamie Kennedy shared his thoughts on the movie after seeing it in theaters last weekend, that “reaction” taking the form of a 30-minute video.
Kennedy, who of course played horror fan Randy Meeks in Scream and Scream 2 & 3, offers up glowing praise for the new movie, while also sharing what he knew going into it. Be warned that Kennedy’s video contains spoilers, so don’t watch until you’ve seen the movie.
“It’s just done perfectly… I don’t know if you could execute it any better,” raves Kennedy. He also talks about the handling of Randy in the movie, whose legacy is on full display.
