Lynn Lowry Receiving Lifetime Achievement Award from the Shawna Shea Film Festival

Horror icon Lynn Lowry – known for her roles in David Cronenberg’s Shivers, George A. Romero’s The Crazies, and Paul Schrader’s Cat People – will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Shawna Shea Film Festival.

The 10th annual event takes place September 21-24 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Lowry will be in attendance to accept the award and show some of her work.

On September 23 at 5 pm, Lowry will screen three short films she’s appeared in – J.T. Seaton’s Divination, Seaton’s The Peripheral, and Jason Reed’s Ready For My Close Up – followed by a Q&A. At 7:30 pm, you can see her in Guns of Eden, an indie action film directed by Gregory Lamberson (Slime City).

Shawna Shea Film Festival founder Skip Shea will present Lowry with her Lifetime Achievement Award at the awards ceremony that concludes the festival on September 24 at 10 pm.

“Throughout her career, Lynn has exhibited the creative spirit that takes risks and has often pushed boundaries,” explains Shea. “Just the type of artist the Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc. loves to celebrate.”

Tickets for the Shawna Shea Film Festival are on sale now. If you’re attending, you can also catch the premiere of a short I co-directed, Reverberance, in a block of horror shorts on September 22 at 7:30 pm.
