‘Lollipop Chainsaw’ Remake Titled ‘Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP’, Delayed to Summer 2024

Wondering just what’s going on with that Lollipop Chainsaw remake by Dragami Games? The developer has dropped an update on the project, not only giving it an official title of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, but also pushing its release date to Summer 2024. No information on platforms was announced.

In a press release, Dragami Games stated that while the team’s intention was to aim for a 2023 release for RePOP, “our commitment to providing the best possible quality experience to our players led us to making the hard decision to extend the development period in order to ensure this. We sincerely apologize to all who had been waiting for the latest installment in the Lollipop Chainsaw series, and kindly ask for your understanding in this matter.”

Dragami Games’ president Yoshimi Yasuda echoed similar thoughts on the delay in a post to Twitter. “We will do our best to create the game that you will love, so we ask for your continued support.”

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is currently being developed without the involvement of James Gunn, Suda51 or Tara Strong, who voiced main character Juliet Starling. Last year, Yasuda stated that despite the absence of the original team’s main players, Dragami are “aiming for a remake that is as close as possible to a remaster”.

The original Lollipop Chainsaw was released back in 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
