“Locke & Key” Season 3 Will Be the Final Season of the Netflix Series

The good news? “Locke & Key” Season 3 is on the way to Netflix. The bad news? Deadline reports this week that Season 3 will be the FINAL season of the Netflix horror series.

Deadline reports, however, that the storyline will be completed. “Season 3 was conceived as the show’s final chapter,” Deadline notes in their exclusive report this afternoon.

“Once we began working on the series, we felt three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Locke family and their Keyhouse adventures to a satisfying conclusion,” Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill said in a statement. “As storytellers, we are grateful that we had the opportunity to tell our version of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s incredible story exactly the way we wanted. We’re keeping the magical keys, though, for our own personal use.”

“Locke & Key” Season 3 is expected later this year. Check out some images below.

The series follows the Locke siblings and their mother who move into their ancestral home, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death.

Darby Stanchfield (“Scandal”) stars as Nina Locke, Jackson Robert Scott (IT) as Bode Locke, Connor Jessup (“American Crime”) as Tyler Locke, Emilia Jones (“Horrible Histories”) as Kinsey Locke,  Bill Heck (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs) as Rendell Locke, Laysla De Oliveira as Dodge, Thomas Mitchell Barnet as Sam Lesser, and Griffin Gluck (“American Vandal”) as Gabe.

“Locke & Key” is based on the comic book series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez.
