Not wanting to leave Amnesia: The Bunker fans to have all of the fun, Bloober Team has announced that Layers of Fear will also be getting a free update for the Halloween season with “The Final Prologue”. The DLC was hinted at a few weeks ago, and will be available on PC and consoles on October 24th.
“The Final Prologue” expands upon the story from 2019’s Layers of Fear 2, which involved an actor exploring an abandoned cruise ship while an unseen director guided the player on their journey. This time around, the player is the one directing the film’s action as they work to unravel the mysteries at the heart of the troubled Hollywood production.
Seeing as you’re in control, you have the power to shape scenes to your liking. You’re in charge of making the ultimate horror flick – with violence, gore and cosmic dread as your tools. You must strive to complete your final masterpiece, even as the set around you devolves into chaos.
“The Final Prologue” will be available for free to all current Layers of Fear owners as a thank you on Bloober Team’s 15th anniversary. It can be accessed as a separate chapter within the base game’s menu.
Layers of Fear is currently available for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
