‘Late Night with the Devil’ – When Is the New Horror Movie Streaming at Home?

From Australian writing-directing team Colin and Cameron Cairnes (100 Bloody Acres, Scare Campaign), the new horror movie Late Night with the Devil was released into theaters by IFC Films this past weekend, but when is it going to be streaming at home?

One of the most buzzed about horror movies of the year, Late Night with the Devil has earned rave reviews from critics, with even Stephen King tweeting praise of the 1977-set horror movie. It’s also managing to make a dent at the box office, opening to $2.8 million in 1,034 theaters over the weekend. That gives it the highest opening weekend in IFC Films’ history!

Late Night with the Devil will begin streaming at home on April 19, 2024, less than one month after arriving in theaters. Shudder will be the exclusive streaming home of the movie.

David Dastmalchian (Dune, The Suicide Squad) stars as the host of a late-night talk show that descends into a nightmare in Late Night with the Devil, set on Halloween 1977.

In the found footage-style film that captures a period aesthetic, “A live television broadcast in 1977 goes horribly wrong, unleashing evil into the nation’s living rooms.”

Late Night with the Devil has been compared to similar movies including Ghostwatch and WNUF Halloween Special, the film presented as a real on-air broadcast from the 1970s.

On Rotten Tomatoes, 97% of 123 reviews from critics are positive at this time. The website’s overall consensus reads, “Delightfully dark, Late Night with the Devil proves possession horror isn’t played out — and serves as an outstanding showcase for David Dastmalchian.”

Meagan Navarro reviewed the film for Bloody Disgusting. She writes, “The ingenuity, the painstaking period recreation, a riveting performance by David Dastmalchian, and a showstopper of a finale make for one Halloween event you won’t want to miss.”
