Konami Planning to Have a Yearly Release for New ‘Silent Hill’ Entries

The successes of Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill f are still not lost on Konami. In fact, according to series producer Motoi Okamoto, the publisher now aims to release a new title every year.

As part of its year-end coverage, Japanese gaming website 4Gamer interviewed 194 Japanese developers, asking each one their ambitions for 2026. When asked by 4Gamer, Okamoto stated that with the Silent Hill series getting “back on track”, Konami’s goal is for a new Silent Hill game “one per year.”

“Following the release of Silent Hill 2 in October 2024, we were able to deliver Silent Hill f in September 2025, and the Silent Hill series has begun to get back on track. Including both announced and unannounced titles, we’re aiming for a release pace of about one title per year. I’m not sure how much of that we’ll be able to realize, but I’ll continue to do my best as producer of the Silent Hill series. Ideally, we’d like to keep excitement around the Silent Hill series going at all times. We’re working hard to share new updates, so I’d appreciate it if you could wait just a little longer.”

This news comes after an interview with online magazine Inverse, where Okamoto mused about bringing the series to other locales after Silent Hill f‘s Japanese setting. “We believe we could perhaps take similar approaches with other cultures across the globe. For example, in Central or South America, we could perhaps tap into the more local, shamanistic beliefs and see how that ties in. But we could also try to expand our horizons and look into other regions, like possibly Russia, Italy, or South Korea, because all those areas have their own unique types of belief systems. I believe that will be a gateway for us to expand our concepts further.”

After the big reveal of the multitude of projects three years ago, the only title that’s still to be released is No Code Games and Annapurna Interactive’s Silent Hill: Townfall. And while Konami hasn’t outright said it, it would align with the goal of a yearly game if Townfall were to be released in 2026.

Meanwhile, if you need your fix for a new entry, you can check out Christophe Gans‘ return to the (film) series with Return to Silent Hill, which will be releasing in theatres on January 23 from Cineverse & Bloody Disgusting.
