Konami Has Let the Web Domain for ‘Silent Hill’ Expire

As much as we’re hoping that Konami will finally given Silent Hill fans some much-deserved love with the return of the series, it’s looking like Konami will be having to do something big to make amends. Case in point: they’ve let the Silent Hill web domain expire, and someone’s already snatched it up.

Granted, the Silent Hill domain hadn’t seen much activity for a while, and had been host to an image comparing Pyramid Head’s height to Resident Evil Village‘s Lady Dimitrescu in a poke at Capcom’s recent entry in the Resident Evil series. That’s now been changed to a single image of the infamous Masahiro Ito tweet earlier this this year.

Apparently, Ito followed that up with a now-deleted tweet explaining what he meant, essentially saying that Pyramid Head is now “cheaper” after having been subjected to appearing in so many titles. And really, can you blame him?

Sadly, it’s just another case of Konami dropping the ball again with one of its beloved franchises. It makes their last Twitter gaffe sting that much more. All could be forgiven if they would finally just give everyone some assurance that the rumoured return to the franchise is more than just idle chatter.

Until then, we’ll just have to be content with fan projects and new projects by Silent Hill alumni.

Big thanks to RelyOnHorror for spotting this.
