Kinetic Games Reveals 2026 Roadmap for ‘Phasmophobia’, Leading to Its Eventual Full Release

Kinetic Games and Phasmophobia finished 2025 strong with the launch of the Nell’s Diner DLC and the Switch 2 release announcement, and have hit the ground running this year with a new roadmap to that elusive 1.0 launch. Calling 2026 “the biggest for Phasmophobia yet,” the team laid out the plan for exiting Early Access after 6+ years of development.

Aside from the obvious, Kinetic Games is planning other major updates for the game. That includes a Player Character update, an update to bring Phasmophobia to Unity 6, a netcode update, and with the eventual 1.0 launch, a “horror rework”, lore update and more. Apart from delving into a few of the details for the Player Character update back in December, Kinetic Games is keeping things under wraps for now until the updates are closer to launch.

Fans were treated to revamped maps last year, and this year will continue that trend. The first of these, 6 Tanglewood Drive will “launch soon,” while 13 Willow Street will arrive later in the year. As with the previous reworks, the maps will receive updated visuals, slight but important gameplay/layout changes as well as a host of new assets, interactions and more. The team also teased that an entirely new map will be added to Phasmophobia later this year.

And of course, there as the events. Past annual events with Cursed Hollow, Crimson Eye and Winter’s Jest will all return at similar times throughout the year, but the devteam will also be adding a new limited-time event. Once again, Kinetic Games is keeping things close to the chest for now, but do say that the event will be “worth the wait.”

You can grab Phasmophobia for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Steam.
