Kim Coates (“Sons of Anarchy”) has signed on to star in the indie horror film Remnant, Deadline reports.
Talisa Mae Stewart, Megan Peta Hill (We Are Zombies), Genevieve Fleming, and Nat Boltt (“Riverdale”) round out the cast.
It follows Anna (Stewart), whose father, Nikolai (Coates), disappeared as a fugitive wanted for mass murder 10 years ago.
When her estranged mother mysteriously dies, Anna inherits her childhood home, where a malevolent demonic presence brings her face-to-face with the terrifying truth of her family legacy.
Currently shooting on location in British Columbia, Canada, the film marks the feature debut of director Ken Kabatoff and writer Christopher Nash.
“I can’t believe I said yes to the dark mental stuff I’m putting myself through for this crazy movie,” said Coates. “Seatbelts on, because when this thing gets going, it does not stop.”
Studio 104 Entertainment’s Mike Johnston produces. Executive producers include Matthew Cervi of Mad Samurai Productions (The Colony), Beau H. Starkel, Andrew H. Chupp, and Jaida Hay.
Blue Fox Entertainment will handle distribution in Canada.
