Joe Begos (Bliss, VFW) is back with holiday slasher Christmas Bloody Christmas this weekend, which is now playing in theaters across the country and also streaming at home on Shudder.
While chatting about the film and his career with Bloody Disgusting’s The Boo Crew Podcast this week, Joe Begos provided us with some early details on his NEXT horror movie.
For starters, Begos himself will be the star of the show…
Begos teases, “I play a coked out filmmaker who is at the edge of his wits – everybody around him has cut him off, and the opening scene is him just melting down. And then he gets abducted by aliens, in this really fucking crazy scene. And he wakes up and he can’t really remember but it starts to come back to him. So he convinces a friend to come over. And while his friend’s there, [the aliens] come back. And then his friend gets abducted. And he’s locked in the apartment because… they basically start to control his mind and everything’s bricked off and it becomes this hallucinatory battle where he’s constantly doing a bunch of cocaine and pain killers because they put an implant in him. So he’s doing coke and pain killers while blowing away these aliens. The lights are getting all fucked up and the place gets covered in neon blood. His friend comes back but he’s infected… and then I get abducted again.”
Begos also tells The Boo Crew that he and the team have “built a bunch of animatronic aliens” for the film, and that astronauts will also be playing a role in the upcoming madness.
