A whole bunch of new horror movies are headed our way this Halloween season, and Rotten Tomatoes is previewing many of them with their new Fall Horror & Sci-Fi Preview 2023.
Included in the mix is an upcoming horror movie titled In the Fire, which hadn’t been on our radar up to this point. It’s coming this October and stars Amber Heard (Aquaman).
Rotten Tomatoes previews, “Amber Heard stars as a doctor who travels to a remote plantation to treat a young boy who demonstrates unusual abilities. The local priest (Eduardo Noriega), however, believes the boy is possessed and doesn’t believe conventional medicine can help him. This is the first foray into the genre for director and co-writer Conor Allyn, whose best known film to date is the 2021 neo-Western drama No Man’s Land.”
Chatting with Variety, Amber Heard recently described In the Fire as “a meditation on the almost supernatural powers of love told through a strong-willed and independent woman at the turn of the 20th century.”
Lorenzo McGovern Zaini, Sophie Amber, Luca Calvani, and Yari Gugliucci also star.
In the Fire comes to theaters, On Demand and Digital on Friday, October 13.
