Gory Visuals Punctuate the ‘Dead Space’ Remake Gameplay Trailer [Watch]

EA and Motive warned us yesterday, and now we finally have the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming remake of Dead Space. And as expected, there’s plenty of eye candy to go around, along with the Necromorph dismemberment and scenes of hell breaking loose on the USG Ishimura.

The gameplay trailer checks off everything you could want for the Dead Space remake: gorgeous (and gory) graphics, Isaac using his plasma cutter (along with other weapons in his arsenal) to sever limbs and mow down Necromorphs, and quick cuts of horrific scenes that mess with your mind.

You all know the story: Isaac Clarke is an everyman engineer on a mission to repair a vast mining ship, the USG Ishimura, only to discover something has gone horribly wrong. The ship’s crew has been slaughtered and Isaac’s girlfriend, Nicole, is lost somewhere on board.

The sci-fi survival horror classic returns, completely rebuilt from the ground up to offer a deeper and more immersive experience. This remake by Motive Studios is touted as bringing jaw-dropping visual fidelity and suspenseful atmospheric audio, as well as new gameplay content and improvements while staying faithful to the original game’s thrilling vision.

Dead Space can be pre-ordered now from EA, and is set to arrive January 27, 2023 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.

And, if you’re feeling like springing for that something extra, Limited Run Games is offering up the Collector’s Edition for the remake. The set includes art prints, a metal Marker statue, and probably one of the coolest goodies, a light-up, wearable Isaac helmet.
