The official teaser trailer for Toho’s Godzilla Minus Zero is stomping our way TONIGHT at 6:55pm ET, but in the meantime we’ve got some exciting first details to tide you over.
Discussing Film has learned a few things about Godzilla Minus Zero out of CinemaCon this afternoon, and it sounds like the film will bring the King of the Monsters to… New York City?!
Discussing Film tweets the following footage recap out of CinemaCon today: “Godzilla Minus Zero shows Godzilla heading to New York and passing the Statue of Liberty.”
The outlet’s co-owner/managing editor Andrew J. Salazar adds in a tweet of his own, “Thanks to the naivety of the U.S. pushing nuclear tests, Godzilla returns in a larger, much more menacing form and finally reaches… New York. We got to see BTS that teased a lot of the Japanese set pieces as well, with [director Takashi] Yamazaki using IMAX cameras.”
Godzilla previously attacked New York City in the American-made 1998 movie Godzilla, with iconic locations including the Brooklyn Bridge and Madison Square Garden featured.
Discussing Film has also learned that Godzilla Minus One stars Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe will both be reprising their roles in this year’s Godzilla Minus Zero.
Stay tuned for the trailer later tonight out of CinemaCon!
Godzilla Minus Zero will release in U.S. theaters on November 6, 2026.
Takashi Yamazaki (Godzilla Minus One) is back to direct the new Godzilla movie.
