Can you believe the first month of the year is already almost over?! These next couple weeks are packing in the new releases, with 10 new January 2026 horror movies out this week alone.

Robert Louis Stevenson’s Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde has been adapted countless times since its publication in 1886 — from film and television to stage and radio to comics and video games — but never like this. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Shark is now available on VOD.

After losing his wife, the deranged and reclusive Dr. Henry Jekyll descends into a nightmare of grief and obsession — until he takes Sharcopine, an untested drug that warps his body into a bloodthirsty man-shark. Now driven by madness and love from beyond the grave, Jekyll prowls the streets, hunting anyone who threatens his twisted relationship.

Max Raven makes his directorial debut from a script by fellow first-timer Bando Glutz.

Randy Clower, Dani Bliss, Erica Muse, Victoria Chaney, Tom Fegan, and Josh Martin star.


From Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting, British infection film Savage Flowers is now available on VOD and also streaming exclusively on the BD-powered Screambox platform.

In an infected world where the children are carriers – a young orphan finds sanctuary in a ramshackle foster home but soon discovers it’s not the world outside that she should fear…

It’s the girls she’s inside with.

The psychological horror film was directed by Brad Watson.

After being released in theaters as part of a double feature alongside Hallow Road (which is also now available at home) last year, Vincent Must Die has debuted on Digital this week.

Stéphan Castang directed the film.

In Vincent Must Die, “Random strangers have suddenly started attacking Vincent with murderous intent. His existence as an unremarkable man is overturned, and as things spiral violently out of control, he is forced to flee and change his life completely.”

A masked killer stalks a trio of teens in House Sitter, which is said to be heavily inspired by ’90s horror classics. The movie is now available on Digital from Cleopatra Entertainment.

While house-sitting for the mysterious and wealthy Harold Finch, three friends find themselves hunted by a masked killer. As they fight to survive, chilling clues hidden throughout the home reveal that this suburban nightmare may be part of something far more sinister…

Death isn’t always the end of the story in The Eye. The British film looks like a new twist on the Pet Sematary mythos, and it’s now available on VOD from Freestyle Digital Media.

Bollywood star Shruti Haasan (Salaar) plays Diana in The Eye, a grieving widow whose husband tragically drowned. She returns to the remote island where they once stayed, seeking closure but finding something far more unsettling.

The locals speak of a twisted form of the Evil Eye, a curse unique to the island that demands a soul for a soul. Diana is offered a choice to bring her husband back by ending another life.

As grief and isolation cloud her judgment, strange coincidences make Diana question whether the villagers are hiding something or if her own mind is turning against her. Her suspicion is intensified by a cryptic village elder whose warnings blur the line between superstition and truth.

With reality slipping and the island’s secrets tightening around her, Diana must face the most devastating question of all: how far would you go to bring back the one you love?

Mark Rowley (“The Last Kingdom”) also stars along with Linda Marlowe (Hellraiser: Deader), Anna SavvaChristos Stergioglou (Dogtooth), and Elpida Stathatou.

Daphne Schmon makes her feature directorial debut from a script by Emily Carlton.


Gamestop return to silent hill

Pyramid Head is back on the big screen in Return to Silent Hill, an adaptation of the iconic video game Silent Hill 2. It’s now playing in theaters from Cineverse & Bloody Disgusting.

Director Christophe Gans returns to the Silent Hill franchise with Return to Silent Hill, which is rated “R” for “bloody violent content, language and brief drug use.”

“When James receives a letter from his lost love Mary, he is drawn to Silent Hill—a once-familiar town now consumed by darkness. As he searches for her, James faces monstrous creatures and unravels a terrifying truth that will push him to the edge of his sanity.”

Jeremy Irvine is James alongside Hannah Emily Anderson as Mary Crane.

Christophe Gans, who also directed the 2006 feature film adaptation of Silent Hill, wrote the script for the new movie alongside Sandra Vo-Anh and William Josef Schneider.


A young woman facing mortality ventures into the woods to escape death in Mother of Flies, and the witchy horror movie from the Adams Family is now streaming only on Shudder.

Mother of Flies is the latest horror film from family filmmaking trio Toby Poser, John Adams, and Zelda Adams (Hellbender, Where the Devil Roams, Hell Hole).

In the film, “Mickey (Zelda Adams) faces a deadly diagnosis, but she isn’t ready to die yet. Heading into the woods with her father (John Adams), she seeks dark magic at the hands of mysterious recluse, Solveig (Toby Poser), who has an intimate relationship with death and roots that go deep in the land.

“For three days, Mickey endures Solveig’s extreme rituals of death magic. But every cure has its cost, and every curse is another’s gift. As buried secrets claw their way to the surface, the veil between the living and the dead begins to unravel, and Mickey finds herself facing dark truths that only the dead and the dying can know.”

Joe Lipsett wrote in his BD review out of Fantasia, “Mother of Flies continues the tradition of Adams family films featuring beautiful prose, visceral FX, and gorgeously moody environments, and Poser’s career-best performance as Solveig is the cherry on top.”


Inspired by true events, slasher He’s Watching You is now available at home.

The film was directed by Jordon Foss.

“When a string of murders rocks his town, a teen’s search for answers leads him to a hidden stash of VHS tapes that may contain clues to solve the mystery of the killer known as The Pill.”

While you wait for It Follows sequel They FollowMaika Monroe (The Hand That Rocks the Cradle) is back in the new thriller In Cold Light. It’s now playing in theaters.

From French-Canadian director Maxime Giroux (Felix And Meira), Maika Monroe (It Follows) and Troy Kotsur (Coda) star in the movie In Cold Light from Saban Films.

Helen Hunt also stars in the “gritty crime thriller.”

Here’s the official synopsis: “Ava (Maika Monroe) is trapped. Like a bull in a bucking chute, seconds before exploding onto the rodeo stage. She is hunted. Pursued by those who killed her brother, pursued by her own demons. Ava needs to make a choice. To either save herself and fight another day or to push and become the woman she wishes she could be.”

Patrick Whistler wrote the screenplay.


A young girl is consumed by a terrifying entity in The Containment.

The supernatural horror film is now playing in select theaters via Level 33 Entertainment.

Fresh off the success of PrimateGia Hunter stars as the young and troubled Caroline Cobbler, who comes in contact with a dark and sinister force.

After the tragic death of her father, Caroline becomes possessed by a demon. When her mother involves the church, they find a horror that’s even deadlier than the possession itself.

Charlotte Hunter (American Psycho), Fernanda Romero (The Eye), Jack Gouldbourne (Fighting with My Family), and Alice Coulthard (“The Last Ship”) round out the cast.

Mexican filmmaking bothers Jack Zagha Kababie and Yossy Zagha Kababie direct The Containment from a script co-written by David Desola (The Platform).
