Experience Modern Urban Fear in Psychological Horror Title ‘Dread Neighbor’ [Trailer]

Inspired by real events, developer Ghostcase, the team behind Dread Flats, is bringing the theme of “the horror of being watched” to Steam with their psychological horror game Dread Neighbor. This new title “marks a significant upgrade in visual quality, presentation, and player immersion, aiming to create an even more suffocating and intense atmosphere.”

Dread Neighbor places players in an unnervingly quiet old apartment building. As a young woman trying to save money, the building has a strange tension about it. Your daily routine—taking out the trash, feeding your cat, commuting to work—seems ordinary, but something sinister quietly seeps into your life.

At first, it’s nothing more than a feeling: Someone is watching you. Whether through the crack of the wardrobe, the darkness beneath the bed, or the hole in the wall where something unseen lurks—this persistent gaze slowly warps your reality.

Through a first-person perspective, players experience this suffocating psychological pressure firsthand. As the environment twists and distorts, you inch closer to uncovering a horrifying truth while struggling against the ratcheting fear.

Dread Neighbor takes a cue from P.T.-style progressive horror loops, allowing scenes and events to shift based on the player’s actions. Every instance of “being watched” becomes more chilling than your previous encounter. Whether it’s the liquid dripping from the ceiling, the eyes glinting through cracks in the wall, the increasingly strange phenomena aims to constantly push you to your psychological limits.
