For the first time in history we’re getting Evil Dead movies in back-to-back years, with Sam Raimi announcing at CinemaCon that Evil Dead Wrath will release in theaters in 2027.
UPDATE: April 14, 2026 – 10:30pm ET – Evil Dead Wrath has now been dated for April 7, 2028, just an hour after it was announced for 2027 at WB’s CinemaCon presentation.
But first up, director Sébastien Vaniček’s Evil Dead Burn will bring the Book of the Dead back to theaters July 24, 2026, and we expect a trailer soon. As for Evil Dead Wrath…
Writer-director Francis Galluppi (The Last Stop in Yuma County) is in charge of Evil Dead Wrath. We know nothing about the approach at this time. Stay tuned for more real soon.
“Francis Galluppi is a storyteller who knows when to keep us waiting in simmering tension and when to hit us with explosive violence. He is a director that shows uncommon control in his feature debut,” producer Sam Raimi told Deadline in an official statement.
Charlotte Hope (The Nun), Jessica McNamee (Mortal Kombat), Zach Gilford (“Midnight Mass”), Josh Helman (Mad Max: Fury Road), Ella Newton (Dangerous Animals), Elizabeth Cullen (Diabolic), and Ella Oliphant will star in Evil Dead Wrath.
We expect that much like Evil Dead Rise, Evil Dead Wrath will tell a brand new story of a new group of characters being terrorized by the savage horrors within the Book of the Dead.
Evil Dead creator Sam Raimi and franchise producer Rob Tapert are producing. Bruce Campbell and Lee Cronin will executive produce alongside Romel Adam and Jose Canas.
New Line Cinema will distribute domestically through Warner Bros. Pictures.
