‘Evil Dead Rise’ Director Teases That Bruce Campbell Is Hidden Somewhere in the Movie…

One thing you should not expect to see in the upcoming Evil Dead Rise is franchise hero Ash Williams, as the new movie will instead focus on new characters. And for what it’s worth, Bruce Campbell has made it very clear in recent years that he has retired from playing the character in the world of live action. But Campbell does have a small cameo in the new movie…

Speaking with Empire this week, director Lee Cronin teases that Bruce Campbell is “hidden in the movie somewhere” – and if you can find him, you may just win some money.

“It felt like in order to move the franchise somewhere new and to unlock the potential of the universe to tell more stories, it needed to break free [of Ash],” Cronin tells Empire.

He adds, “But Bruce is hidden in the movie somewhere. Bruce has a small presence in the movie. The first person to figure it out and send me a tweet, I’ll give them 50 bucks.”

Campbell, you may recall, popped up for a small post-credits cameo in Evil Dead 2013. Make sure you keep your eyes and ears peeled when you go see Evil Dead Rise next month.
