Eli Roth is conjuring up a brand new twisted horror movie with the upcoming Ice Cream Man, which (unfortunately) seems to have nothing to do with the same-titled Clint Howard star vehicle from back in the 1990s. And in a new chat with Geek Vibes Nation to kick off 2026, Roth promises that Ice Cream Man will go even harder on the insanity than his previous work.
“I want this to be the craziest film I’ve ever made,” Roth states. “I mean, I want to outdo Hostel and Green Inferno and Cabin Fever in terms of bat shit crazy. And we just shot it. I’m in post on it now. No release date yet, but thinking maybe late summer. But it’s totally insane.”
What’s Ice Cream Man about, you ask? The film follows an idyllic summer town descending into madness when an ice cream man serves kids sweet delights with horrifying results.
Roth teases, “It’s like The Birds but with children. I filmed with a hundred kids going completely nuts with like axes and tools, and the kids just kill all the adults, but then they’re playing jump rope with the guts and tetherball with a head. And I filmed with kids during the summer, and it was one of the funniest, most nuts… it was like Christmas morning.”
“You’ve never seen children happier than when they’re like covered in blood running around with a fake head and like jumping up and down on, like sitting on teeter totters with headless bodies, squirting blood,” Roth continues in his chat with Geek Vibes Nation. “It was wild.”
Ari Millen (“Orphan Black”) stars in the title role of Eli Roth’s new horror movie.
Benjamin Byron Davis (Red Dead Redemption), Karen Cliche (Thanksgiving), Dylan Hawco, Sarah Abbott, Shiloh O’Reilly, Kiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Zeltzer (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), and Charlie Storey also star in Ice Cream Man.
Snoop Dogg — who’s also collaborating with Roth on the forthcoming Don’t Go in That House, Bitch — is contributing music to the film, along with composer Brandon Roberts.
