‘Dinner to Die For’ Trailer – An Appetite for True Crime Turns Deadly

True crime-obsessed friends become consumed by a deadly role play in the trailer for Dinner to Die For.

The South African horror-thriller will be released on Digital tomorrow, January 30, via Chroma.

The film centers on culinary photographer Hannah and her friend Evan, who share a passion for true crime. When Evan suggests role playing their own true crime scenario involving a killer meal and the girl next door, things take a twisted turn.

They indulge in a lust triangle that twists into a high-stakes game of desire, validation, and the dangerous appetites that consume us.

Shamilla Miller (“Troy: Fall of a City”), Steven John Ward (“One Piece”), and Nina Erasmus star.

Diana Mills Smith makes her feature directorial debut from a script she co-wrote with Cameron Scott and Orr Koren.

“I believe one of the most fun and challenging parts about telling a murder-mystery is how much you reveal to the audience,” said Smith. “With Dinner to Die For, the title itself already promises death. Where it was fun to play with was keeping the audience on their toes about how, when, and which characters meet their bloody end”

Smith continues, “You have to give audiences something they’ve never seen before, and you need to have fun on the journey to that moment. We wanted the film to feel seductive. For me, that meant approaching tension like foreplay: Building it gradually, holding it just long enough, and releasing it at precisely the right time.”

Scott and Koren produce alongside Andea de Jager. Executive producers include Koren, Ahbra Perry, Asgar Mahomed, Ayanda Gwala, Kagiso Rabada, and Ryan Levin.
