DC’s ‘Black Adam’ Pushed Back to Halloween 2022 Release

Originally set for release on July 29, Orphan and The Shallows director Jaume Collet-Serra’s Black Adam has been pushed out of summer 2022 entirely, we’ve learned today.

Black Adam will now release in theaters on October 21, 2022.

The DC movie stars box office juggernaut Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the title role.

“Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods-and imprisoned just as quickly-Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.”

The Invisible Man‘s Aldis Hodge costars as Hawkman, while Noah Centineo is playing Atom Smasher, Pierce Brosnan is playing Dr. Fate, and Quintessa Swindell is Cyclone.

Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani wrote the script’s most recent draft.

In the wake of Black Adam in October, DC will release Andy Muschietti’s The Flash (featuring Michael Keaton as Batman!) on November 4, 2022, followed by James Wan’s Aquaman sequel on December 16, 2022. Those are the current dates at this time, at least.

Stay tuned for more changes as they come in.
