Dark Fantasy RPG ‘The Thaumaturge’ PC Release Delayed to February 2024

Fool’s Theory and 11 bit studio’s dark fantasy RPG The Thaumaturge has been hit with a delay for PC. Originally set for release next month, the Polish and Russian folk-inspired title will instead be released via Steam on February 20th, 2024. The announcement was made via The Thaumaturge‘s official X account.

Citing the need for additional time in development to “achieve the standards that players have come to expect” from the developer, the delay will be in order for the dev team to “add more polish and quality” to The Thaumaturge.

The Thaumaturge is a narrative-focused RPG that takes place in 1905 Warsaw. You are Wiktor Szulski, who is drawn back to Warsaw by family matters. Wiktor also happens to have the gift of thaumaturgy. This turns out to be vital, as only a thaumaturge can tame the demonic entities known as Salutors, which feed on human flaws, but can also gift those who tame the Salutors with unique powers. It’s up to Wiktor to uncover these Salutors and free his people from their grip.

Alongside a PC release, The Thaumaturge is also in development for the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series. No release date has been announced yet for the console versions.
