‘Command Z’ Trailer – Steven Soderbergh Puts a Wormhole in a Washing Machine in Surprise Sci-fi Series

The always prolific and surprising Steven Soderbergh (Unsane, Kimi, Magic Mike’s Last Dance) is back with another unexpected project, this one a sci-fi series titled Command Z.

The official trailer for Command Z – which stars Michael Cera – was uploaded exclusively to Soderbergh’s “Soderblog” this morning, and that’s also where the series will exclusively premiere on July 17. Yup, you’ll only be able to watch it directly on Extension765.com.

Indiewire explains, “Michael Cera stars as a scientist who tasks his employees with a “historic” mission to travel back in time to revise history and save the world.”

“The futuristic sci-fi series hinges on a “wormhole in a washing machine” to redo the past to hopefully save the (future) present.”

Command Z will be released in eight parts, with Roy Wood Jr. and Liev Schreiber also starring.

Indiewire further details the mysterious sci-fi satire project, explaining that the series was “independently financed by Soderbergh outside of his overall deal with Warner Bros. and HBO.”

Watch the trailer only over on Soderbergh’s official website now.
