‘Cannibal Tales’ Closed Beta Planned For Halloween; New Character Profiles Released

Fantastico Studio has dropped another progress update for their Cannibal Tales visual novel, which is aiming to have a beta release this Halloween. In addition to adding three new scenes to the beta, the update delves into the characters that are part of Ruggero Deodato-scripted game.

“As the beta release draws near, we’re putting the finishing touches on localizing the new scenes in the upcoming demo,” reads the update. The closed beta comes off of the success of the demo that the developer put together back in August for Steam’s Visual Novel Fest.

Fantastico also dropped a few details regarding the characters that will be part of this first entry, “The Interview”, which is being planned for release this Winter:

Helena is a journalist at “Bloody Disgusting” (no relation to us), is entangled in a violent, manipulative relationship with her boss, Paul.

Paul is the European entrepreneur behind “Bloody Disgusting”, who delights in macabre content. He operates in the shadows, exercising sadistic dominion over Helena.

Maura is a nurse in the psychiatric institution where Noah, an associate of notorious cannibal Price, is confined. Driven purely by monetary gain, Maura is not one to be trusted.

The 30-year-old Noah exhibits childlike innocence due to past traumas. His slender frame reflects vulnerability, and while rarely hungry, he cherishes chocolate for its brief moments of pleasure. His relationship with cannibal Price remains a mystery, which the player will aim to uncover in the game.

Accused cannibal and serial killer Price terrorizes his victim by consuming them alive. Having eluded the police for years, he’s a master at online enticement, creating relationships based on trust and dependence.

Cannibal Tales is a three-part visual novel adventure game from the mind of the director of Cannibal Holocaust. The first entry, “The Interview”, sees you play as Helena. Your goal is to get a scoop that will allow you to become a partner at “Bloody Disgusting”. To do so, Helena decides to pursue the mystery surrounding Noah, a young survivor of metropolitan cannibal, Price. Helena is determined to get an interview in order to unravel the connection between the two, and understand why Noah was spared. During the interview, your morality will be put to the test as the line between good and evil grows increasingly blurred.

To get in on the closed beta for Cannibal Tales, you’ll have to sign up for Fantastico’s mailing list, which you can do so here. Cannibal Tales is currently in development for PC on Steam.
