“Black Mirror” Season 7 Coming in 2025; Will Feature a Sequel to ‘USS Callister’ Episode!

In the wake of five brand new nightmares that premiered last year as part of the show’s sixth season, “Black Mirror” Season 7 is on the way next year, we’ve learned.

Netflix announced today, “Charlie Brooker’s dark, satirical anthology series is already in production on six brand new episodes for Season 7, which will stream on Netflix in 2025.”

The streamer continues, “Brooker and the Black Mirror creative team aren’t giving away any specific spoilers, but they are teasing one major nugget of information: One of the episodes will be a sequel to the now-classic Season 4 opener, USS Callister.”

“The high-profile episode starred Jesse Plemons as Robert Daly, a brilliant but troubled programmer who co-founded a popular online video game,” Netflix recaps. “Unhappy with a perceived lack of recognition at his gaming company, Robert created a simulated reality within the game, giving himself the role of a Captain Kirk–like figure aboard a starship and leading an adoring crew — based on his real-life co-workers — on zany sci-fi adventures. Of course, because this is Black Mirror, things took an unexpected and sinister turn.”

Netflix teases, “Captain Robert Daly may have died in the original episode, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their problems are just beginning.”

“Black Mirror” Season 7 will include six brand new stories.

“Black Mirror” is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia leading to an unforgettable – and sometimes unsettling – conclusion. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us.

The hit series premiered in 2011, a sort of “Twilight Zone” for the modern day.
