Tattooist, illustrator and sculptor Andrew Hunter (Twitter: @andrewyayzushunter, IG: yayzus_tattoo) has combined two of my favorite things: cats and horror.
Owner of the Rebel Base Tattoo Studio in Tuxford, United Kingdom since 2016, Andrew has been busy not only crafting some of the coolest tattoos, he also creates killer mashups of horror icons as the Japanese ‘lucky cat’ (maneki-neko) figure. Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Michael Meowers, err, Myers…they’re all well-represented over on his Instagram account.
Andrew’s sketches of these mashups often get created into canvas art prints, patches and enamel pins, which are available for purchase at his studio or via DM on Instagram.
Other characters Andrew has turned into lucky cats include Leatherface, Pennywise, Chucky, Ash Williams, Pinhead, Art the Clown, Candyman, Captain Spaulding and Trick ‘r Treat‘s Sam!
