Apogee’s ‘Turbo Overkill’ Locks in 1.0 Release for July 18th, First Part of Final Episode Out Now [Trailer]

Apogee has announced that their cyberpunk boomer shooter Turbo Overkill will finally be set for release next month on July 18th. As well, developer Trigger Happy Interactive has launched the first part of the final episode for the throwback shooter, entitled “The Final Episode, Part 1” (naturally) via Steam Early Access and GOG, with the second half launching alongside the final game.

The release of Turbo Overkill: The Final Episode, Part 1 kicks destruction into overdrive with five new Syn-enhanced, ability-boosting augments: paint the town red with dual chainsaw arms, and rev up fresh carnage with the addition of a second chainsaw leg. Rain down street-cleansing firepower from new heights with the addition of triple jump and wall slides, and fast-travel with Syntech portals for quick long-distance warping.

Slay a fresh batch of brainwashed baddies in The Final Episode, Part 1 with new cybernetic monstrosities roaming the blood-soaked streets. Prepare for mayhem against dinosaur-like Mortars, massive four-legged Clops equipped with chainsaw spears, and bloodthirsty clones of Maw, Johnny’s arch nemesis (voiced by Gianna Matragrano).

“We wanted to surprise Turbo Overkill fans with Episode 3, Part 1, which is bigger in scope than anything we’ve done in the past 2 episodes combined. We are incredibly grateful for our fans’ support and feedback along this early access journey, and hope they enjoy this surprise launch,” explains Sam Prebble, lead developer at Trigger Happy Interactive. “1.0 is just around the corner, with plenty of surprises left to unveil.”

Versions of Turbo Overkill for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One are set to follow in the future. And check out the demo today on Steam!
