After showing off a sneak peek makeup test video yesterday, Zack Snyder has now announced today that acting legend Anthony Hopkins has joined the cast of his movie Rebel Moon.
Deadline details that Hopkins will voice Jimmy in the Netflix movie, “an impossibly sentient JC1435 mechanized battle robot and one-time defender of the slain King.”
In addition to directing, Snyder is also co-writing the script with Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead) and Kurt Johnstad (300). The film has been referred to as “an epic sci-fi fantasy.”

“A peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius. Desperate people dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them make a stand.”
Ed Skrein, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Sofia Boutella, Stuart Martin, Jena Malone, Staz Nair, E. Duffy, Charlotte Maggi, and Sky Yang star.
Michiel Huisman (“The Haunting of Hill House”), Cary Elwes (Saw), Corey Stoll (“The Strain”), and Alfonso Herrera (“The Exorcist”) most recently joined the ensemble cast.
