Director André Øvredal’s (The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, The Last Voyage of the Demeter) next horror movie was without a title heading into 2026, but The Hollywood Reporter reveals this morning that Paramount has titled the film Passenger.
Passenger will release in theaters on May 29, 2026.
Jacob Scipio, Lou Llobell and Melissa Leo will star.
The screenplay is written by Zachary Donohue (The Den) and T.W. Burgess (Mister Howl), but plot details for André Øvredal’s Passenger are still being kept under wraps.
Former Warner Bros production executive Walter Hamada, who steered the Conjuring and It franchises, is producing via his 18hz as part of his first-look deal with Paramount. It screenwriter Gary Dauberman is also producing via Coin Operated.
First up from 18hz is the chimpanzee horror movie Primate on January 9.
