Talk to Me star Sophie Wilde is set to topline the sci-fi thriller Soon You Will Be Gone and Possibly Eaten.
Based on the short story by Nick Antosca (“Channel Zero,” “Cape Fear“), Egor Abramenko (Sputnik) will direct from a script by Luke Piotrowski & Ben Collins (Hellraiser 2022, The Night House).
It follows Rob and Sabile, a young engaged couple, who head to a secluded mountain resort to take their vows and step into the new chapter of their shared lives. What was planned as a joyous wedding attended by family members takes a different turn when unexpected guests crash the ceremony.
Armenian visual effects house Monkey Rave (“Halo,” “Locke & Key”) is handling the alien design for the film, which is slated to shoot in the spring.
Producers include Antosca and Alex Hedlund for Eat the Cat (“Cape Fear”), Sébastien Raybaud for Anton (The Night House), Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks for Divide/Conquer (M3GAN), and Dawn Olmstead and Nick Shumaker for Anonymous Content (“True Detective”). Anonymous Content’s David Levine and Garrett Kemble will executive produce.
“I was blown away by Nick Antosca’s short story,” said Abrame. “From the get-go, it was a very fresh take on the alien genre, which is a really rare thing.”
Anton is financing the film and handling worldwide rights, launching sales at next week’s European Film Market. Domestic sales are being handled by Anton, Anonymous Content and WME Independent.
Abramenko is currently in post-production on the A24 horror film Altar.
