5 of This Week’s Coolest Horror Collectibles Including Nostalgic VHS Boxes from Spirit Halloween

Killer Collectibles highlights five of the most exciting new horror products announced each and every week, from toys and apparel to artwork, records, and much more.

Here are the coolest horror collectibles unveiled this week!

The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection: Volume 3 4K UHD Box Set from Universal

Five more Alfred Hitchcock movies are coming to 4K Ultra HD: Rope, The Man Who Knew Too Much, Torn Curtain, Topaz, and Frenzy. They’ll be available both individually ($19.99) and together in the third volume of The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection box set ($69.98) on October 31 via Universal.

1948’s Rope stars James Stewart, John Dall, and Farley Granger. 1956’s The Man Who Knew Too Much stars James Stewart and Doris Day. 1966’s Torn Curtain stars Paul Newman and Julie Andrews. 1969’s Topaz stars Frederick Stafford, Dany Robin, and John Forsythe. 1972’s Frenzy stars Jon Finch, Alec McCowen, and Barry Foster.

All five thrillers have been restored in 4K and are presented with HDR. Archival special features, including making-of featurettes for each production, are included.

Suspiria Print from Outpost 512

Tula Lotay beautifully captures Dario Argento’s vibrant color palette with her Suspiria poster. 24×36 screen prints, limited to 200, are available from Outpost 512.

Priced at $75, they’re expected to ship in November.

Blue Steel Blu-ray from Lionsgate

Blue Steel will be released on Blu-ray on November 14 as spine #31 in the Vestron Video Collector’s Series. The 1990 action thriller is presented in high definition with 2.0 DTS-HD Master Audio.

Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Near Dark) directs from a script she co-wrote with Eric Red (The Hitcher, Near Dark). Jamie Lee Curtis stars with Ron Silver, Clancy Brown, Elizabeth Peña, Louise Fletcher, and Tom Sizemore.

Special features include an audio commentary by film historian Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, interviews with editor Lee Percy and production designer Toby Corbett, featurettes with film historians Jennifer Moorman and Chris O’Neill, and more.

Video Collector’s Boxes from Spirit Halloween

Spirit Halloween carries VHS-inspired “Collector’s Boxes” for Halloween II, Corpse Bride, IT: Chapter Two, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and Trick ‘r Treat.

Priced at $14.99, each set contains six title-specific items — a patch, two buttons, two decals, and a lanyard with badge — all housed in a clamshell video case with reversible artwork (clean and faux-aged).

Scrooged 4K UHD from Paramount

I know it’s hard to think about Christmas when it’s not even October yet, but the spirits are bringing Scrooged to 4K Ultra HD (with Digital) on November 7 from Paramount. Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the 1988 dark comedy has been newly remastered in 4K.

The modern retelling of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is directed by Richard Donner (The Goonies, The Omen) and written by Mitch Glazer (The Recruit) and Michael O’Donoghue (Saturday Night Live). Bill Murray stars with Karen Allen, John Forsythe, Bobcat Goldthwait, Carol Kane, Robert Mitchum, Michael J. Pollard, and Alfre Woodard.

Special features — many of which are previously unreleased — include a commentary by Donner, four featurettes, “On the Set with Bill Murray,” and ShoWest clips with Murray.
